Mon Jul 2nd - More work on nultiplying and Dividing Indices numbers

LEARNING OBJECTVIE: To understand what an index number is and what it means and to be able to work out answers when index numbers are multiplied or divided


SUCCES CRITERIA: You will understand how an index number is shorthand for a longer sum and be able to simplify answers when two or more index numbers are multiplied or divided.


ENGAGEMENT ACTIVITY: Starter of the Day - know your Place


LESSON: On IWB Do a revision of indices numbers notation and remind how to use their calculators to work out indices sums.


Let them work thorugh the questions on bottom of Fridays Worksheet. After 20 mins see if they can create some rules when you mulitply two index numbers together.

SUCCESS CRITERIA: You will be able to round any whle number and any decimal number to 1 or 2 significant figures

LESSON: ON IWB use screens 1, 2 & 39(repeatedly) to introduce the idea of rounding to significant figures.
